Factions of Neverwinter
This list isn’t nearly complete, but it gives you some informations on current and in some cases former factions.
The Lord’s Protectors.
A recently formed higher guard and knighthood consisting out of veterans, paladins and clerks who are taking up the protection of Neverwinter and overseeing tasks within the city.
The Neverwinter Nights.
A news tabloid spread throughout the city with reporters, spies and bards.
The Dogs of War
A halfling only warband, monster hunter guild and mercenary company devoted to the halfling gods of war and death.
The Neverwinter guard.
The town’s militia and guards formed out of the men and women who stood watch on the walls of the chasm.
The Sons of Alagondar.
An insurgent movement who opposes Lord Neverember.
Mostly disbanded by now.
The Order of The Gauntlet.
Justicers consisting out of clerics and paladins. Seeking out and destroying evil in the world.These religious paragons were united in ideals from the faiths of Tyr, Helm, Torm, and Hoar.
An orcish warband of several tribes that target Neverwinter and it’s supply lines regularly. They occupied parts of the city during years before Neverember.
Asmodeus worshippers that mainly found a foothold among the nobles of The Sworcoast. The cult is believed to have been rooted out and destroyed.
The Eladrin of Iliyanbruen had their home in the Neverwinter wood. An Eldrin city that was unfortunately destroyed during the spellplague and its portal to the feywild mirror city with it. The Eladrin that are left and have returned to Neverwinter wood have grown bittered and dark bend on revenge against who caused its destruction and their way back home to the feywild. Unfortunately they believe Neverwinter to be part of that destruction.
Allthough these barbarian tribes live further up in the north the Gray Wolf Tribe and the Thunderbeast Tribe often come to visit Neverwinter wood.
The Emerald Enclave.
The Enclave is an organization consisting mainly out of druids and rangers that figt for the protection of the natural world. Its memebrs are spread far and wide.
The Lord’s Alliance.
A coalition of rulers from cities across Faerûn, who collectively agree that some solidarity is needed to keep evil at bay. The rulers of Waterdeep, Silverymoon, Neverwinter, and other free cities in the region dominate the Alliance.
The Adventurer’s league.
A realm wide organization that has lodges in many locals. They try to keep logbooks of quests, events, locations and creatures. Members can get discounts, resupplies, mounts for hire and sometimes food and lodging at a A.L. lodge.
Originally seated in Luskan the bortherhood is mostly fallen and scattered. A small cell carying its name has a base In Neverwinter. It carries a badname with it but wizards who seek power and darker magics are drawn to it.
The Council of Stix.
An underworld organization consisting mainly out of rogues, thieves, swindlers and some say assassins. They are said to formerly be called the Shadow Thieves hailing from Waterdeep.
The Order Magists.
An academical order of wizards and sorcerers whose goal is the teaching of and gathering of arcane knowledge and wizardy.
Opposing The council of Stix this crime syndicate is led by a single individual who remains a mystery and its members only know they’re immediate next in rank. They consist out of Thieves, Robbers, Highwaymen and Assassins.
The Loggers Guild.
Although its name refers to loggers this guild is for all heavy labor workers. Dock workers, loggers, masoners and so on.
The Art Intrigue.
A musicians and bard’s guild and academy it effectively is just a collection of likeminded individuals gathering to play music, share stories and dance.
The Waterclock guild.
A clockworking and magic guild that is situated in The Clock tower. It mainly sells and exports beautiful and acurate clocks.
The Order of Delvers.
A Dwarven explorers guild has a very small guildhouse in Neverwinter.
Aurora’s trading chapter.
A guild based on the former Aurora’s whole Realms trader. They try to set up a realms wide trading system in the exchange of specialty goods.
The Order of the Gilded Eye
This order of Helm paladins and clerics functions out of Helm’s hold. Mainly occupied right now with restoring Helm;s hold and the surrounding lands.
