Neverwinter and it’s districts.
After the Spellplague, the sundering, the return of the gods and the eruption of mount Hotenow Neverwinter was nearly destroyed. Most of the city was a wasteland of smoldering ruins, death and decay. The people who were left set on the new task of rebuilding Neverwinter and the first part that was restored was Protectors Enclave. New walls, restored buildings and outside help from Lord Neverember who after some time moved to Neverwinter to personally oversee it’s restoration as it’s protector. The drew in many who wanted to try their luck here and the Enclave is now the safest and most restored district. The city is run from The Halls ofJustice allthough Lord Neverember lives in a mansion at the edge of the district.
The Blacklake district was the second to be restored. A lot of buildings have been rebuild and repopulated. Its fishing docks are active again and it has become a bustling district filled with merchants, stores and those looking for a new home or adventure. It’s famous blacklake is clear now adays but the name remains.
The Tower district named for it’s many towers is still heavily damaged but very much alive. Many of it’s towers are reoccupied, fallen or not and the Shard of Night floats over the streets and houses once again. Many new residents who are not willing to settle in the open green River district or take their chances in Watchwall settle here.
The River district lies on both banks of The River Never along the east part of the city. Mainly settled by Halflings, Elves, Halfelves, and some other more exotic citizens It is the greenest part of the city and also contains the Gardens where a lot of the cities fruit and vegetables come from.
Watchwall was home to the chasm and many horrors. Neverember had the portals to the nethers shut through powerful magic and then lets the river flud the chasm. Although there are several projects running to restore Watchwall it is still mostly ruins and abondined buildings. Many an adventuring party regularly moves into Watchwall to clear out buildings and streets from all kinds of nasty critters, monsters and the dead. But its edges are slowly coming to live again. A unique safepoint is The Chasm Bridge. With 4 towers at its edges this bridge is continually guarded and Watchwall watched over from its towers by veterans of The Chasm guard.
Neverdeath is iroincally enough the part of the city that got through everything undamaged. The walled graveyards of Upper and Lower Neverdeath are as some say older then the city itself and contained hundereds of graves, crypts and tombs. All watched over from Deathswatch tower.
The Clocktower a massive tower and buildings in a walled off section of the city is home to the mighty Clockworkers guild. The guild is a magic and clockwork academy and has mostly withstood the devistation of the city. The guild earns its money by creating and selling clocks and watches of all kinds that are shipped far and wide over Faerun and even beyond.
The Neverwinter Sewers are a complex multilevelled system of tunnels, hallways, cisterns and rooms. Parts of it have collapsed during all the troubled times, some of it is active and the parts under Protectors enclave are secured and fixed with new gates and accessways.NW-Grouped-by-function
